And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:11 ESV.
The Lord Jesus has prepared everything; We didn’t do anything — We did less than anything. Yet, Jesus purchased new clothes for us to replace the filthy rags that we had smeared with sins and shredded with iniquities. He is so compassionate, loving, astonishing. Regardless of how foul your old rags have become, Jesus is there to clothe you with his pristine robes of righteousness.
From the top of his Holy Throne in heaven, Jesus descended into the darkest pits of the world, into the dusty taverns and the musty caverns. There, far from the light, hidden in the black corner, he finds his lost sinner. Dragging them out of the darkness and into the light, he gives them a new life, a new spirit, healing their body and renewing their mind, washing away the unholy, and sanctifying their soul through the Holy Spirit. He takes out their heart of cold stone, which loved sin, and gives them a new living heart, which loves God.
Now they are clean and pure, forever holy in the eyes of the Most Holy One, each one a precious gem that reflects the glory of the Light of the World, cherished sons and daughters of the light forever, brilliant and beautiful, beloved children that he will one day bring home to himself.
